The second entry in the Space Between Trilogy (the first, Space Between Scorpions, was released through Microbit Records), this split release between experimental guitarist and soundscaper Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt and the downright experimental Consistency Nature is full of shimmering, gossamer compositions. Although the tracks lack any real structure, their brittle, yet rich textures hang their beautifully like art in a gallery, let loose from the confines of its frame. Ghostly hints of melody play in each piece, stringing the album together, but never achieve corporeal form. Mesopotamians believed the constellation Aquarius was the representation of Enki, later Ea, the lord of water, who was often depicted holding an overflowing vase. This is a fitting inspiration for this album full of songs that flow over one's conscious, drowning out the unnecessary and clearing the way for their beauty to flourish.
